The Professional Liability Day 2024 will be held on Saturday 9th March at Grays Inn – all the details below. Members can book by emailing the administration. This is a great opportunity to hear from a panel of highly regarded experts and to meet other barristers practising in this area.
This year our focus is on financial professionals – but the course will be beneficial to those practising in all areas of professional negligence. On offer: exploration of evergreen issues such as disclaimers/duties owed to third parties, insights from an expert, a round-up of recent developments in professional liability, and reflections from one of the area’s most eminent KC’s.
The course features:
- A talk from our erstwhile Chair, Tom Grant KC, on McClean v Thornhill;
- An analysis of accountants’ liability for trading losses from Jamie Smith KC;
- Insight on how to get the best from your expert from an experienced expert themselves, Philip Crooks;
- Michael Pooles KC’s reflections on his stellar professional negligence career; and
- Marie-Claire O’Kane provides the ever-popular update on recent professional negligence cases.
Course Directors are Amanda Savage KC and Isabel Barter.
